Each year, the OU Club of Austin helps fund scholarships for Austin-area students headed to OU, or already enrolled there.
Scholarship funds are administered by the OU Scholarship Office, not the club directly. The review and notification steps below are handled by OU. Which path applies to you depends on whether you're applying to OU for the first time or you're already an OU student.
You're automatically considered for club and society scholarships when you complete your OU application for admission, including the supplemental essays. There's no separate scholarship application to fill out.
The Scholarship Office reviews applicants using a rubric and/or a committee.
If you're selected, you'll be notified through your financial aid package, typically between March and April. If an originally awarded student doesn't end up enrolling at OU, the scholarship may be re-awarded to another student on the same timeline.
Want the club to know about your award and celebrate with you? Sign the FERPA release included with your notification so the Scholarship Office can share your name with us. Students who sign the release are also invited to send the club a short thank-you note, usually by around September.
Apply through the Centralized Academic Scholarship Hub (CASH) by completing the Financial Aid Scholarship Application.
The Scholarship Office reviews applications using a pre-approved rubric.
Award decisions are made by the Scholarship Office.
You'll be notified of your award directly through the CASH system.
As with incoming students, thank-you notes to the club are collected through the Scholarship Office and only shared with us if you've signed a FERPA release consenting to that.
